About Hypnotherapy & EFT 

Hypnosis has a long history, and interestingly was used with great success in both hospitals and dentistry for pain control in the 1950's.  It was during this time, that due to extensive research and practises, hypnosis had a rebirth, as new uses for it were discovered - in the areas of behavioural modification and healing.  Hypnosis and hypnotherapy are one and the same, and used interchangeably.

These are gentle and powerful techniques, that work on aligning the conscious with the subconscious mind.  This is very important, as these two areas of the brain are often at odds with each other.  The conscious mind is the part of our mind that we are mostly aware of; which may be ready for change and brought you to therapy in the first place.  The subconscious lies beneath the surface of our awareness, storing memories and experiences, having a great influence upon you - possibly keeping you stuck in the familiar, and the past.  This is why habits can be so hard to break.  By relaxing deeply, access to this area of the mind is made easier.

The processes I use help to guide you into a relaxed state, known as a light trance state, where you can focus inwardly (similar to being absorbed by a good book).   Brainwave activity slows down, thus creating the optimal condition for positive shifts to occur.  You remain in control at all times.

​

The Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), also known as tapping, uses the ancient technique of working on acupressure points whilst addressing emotional issues.  EFT is easy to learn and can be used by the person in their daily life.  

​

How can these sessions help me, & what happens?

These are potentially deep and transformative sessions, where a blend of hypnotherapy, EFT, NLP, coaching and more are used to facilitate real behavioural, mental and emotional change; addressing worn out ideas and beliefs so that you can live more in line with your true potential and be less weighed down and encumbered by issues from the past.  This encourages a positive outlook, enabling you to live more in the present.

 

Our body and mind cannot be separated, for they are intrinsically linked - our thoughts, feelings and behaviours affect our biology.  For example, serotonin - a mood stabilizer, is released when we are happy and cortisol when we are stressed.  This goes some way to explaining why these modalities are so good at addressing emotional, mental and physical issues.

How many sessions

Every person and problem is different, so the amount of sessions needed varies.  By speaking with you beforehand, in a free 15 minute consultation, this will often become clearer.

​

How long are the sessions & how much will they cost?

Sessions take 75 minutes.

The cost is £65 per session.

​

These can take place in-person or on zoom/similar platform.
